Still life has long been a space for artists to explore the relationship between objects, perception, and meaning. Beyond the representation of everyday things, the genre offers an opportunity to examine the passage of time, the significance of material possessions, and the quiet narratives embedded in ordinary life.

Still Life brings together international artists who revisit and reinterpret this enduring artistic tradition through diverse contemporary practices. From carefully arranged compositions to abstract and conceptual approaches, the exhibition explores how familiar objects can become carriers of memory, identity, cultural references, and personal experience.

Throughout the exhibition, objects are removed from their everyday functions and reconsidered through colour, form, texture, and composition. Some works engage with the traditional language of still life, while others challenge its conventions, introducing new perspectives on materiality, symbolism, and representation.

Together, these works suggest that still life is not simply about depicting objects, but about the relationships we form with them. By directing attention towards what is often overlooked, the exhibition invites viewers to reconsider the familiar and recognise the complexity and significance of the ordinary.
